World Meeting of Families Edmonton Event

World Meeting of Families is coming to Edmonton

Our World Meeting of Families Event will be at St Therese’s Church, Edmonton, on Saturday 25th June, beginning at 5pm. This is an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of family; children, parents, grandparents and relatives.

There will be some sharing, fellowship, fun and Pizza (Yes Gluten Free Pizzas are available!). There will be a special program for primary school aged children as well.

All are welcome to come.

For catering purposes please register via this secure link to the Registration Form and submit by Tuesday evening (21st June) as we need to order pizzas on Wednesday. Thanks.

This event is free, but your donation would assist with covering costs. Eftpos for donations will be available at the event.

What is the World Meeting of Families?

Every three years since 1994, the Church has celebrated the World Meeting of Families in a different city of the world. In 2022 the event will be hosted by the Diocese of Rome with Pope Francis leading special celebrations.

However, the Holy Father has also asked that the World Meeting of Families be celebrated concurrently in every diocese of the world in 2022.

The idea is for families to gather locally to explore and celebrate the theme of “Family love: a vocation and a path to holiness”.
