The Australian Pastoral Musicians Network and the National Liturgical Council are pleased to announce a combined liturgy and music conference to be held at the Brisbane Hilton from 28 – 30 September, 2023.
The conference is called Mystery and Mission: The Art of Liturgical Celebration and is a welcome collaboration after several years of being unable to gather for conferences. It will also be a particular celebration of the 60th anniversary of Sacrosanctum Concilium.
The newly-released promotional video is now available for viewing.
International keynote presenters are Dr Timothy O’Malley, professor of liturgical-sacramental theology and academic director of the Notre Dame Centre for Liturgy (USA), and Sarah Hart, one of the leading figures in contemporary Catholic music.
These international guests will be joined by acclaimed local presenters: Rev Dr Tom Elich, liturgist and Director of Liturgy Brisbane, and Dr Maeve Louise Heaney VDMF, theologian and composer.
In addition to these keynote presentations, there will be more than 50 workshops on offer across the three days. (See downloadable files below.)
We invite you to explore the full program of keynotes and workshops on the Conference Website at https://mysteryandmission.com.au .
It is rare to have expert liturgical musicians, liturgists and educators together in one place for three days of focussed input, so we encourage liturgists, musicians, clergy, cantors, choristers, lay liturgical ministers, composers, teachers, conductors, liturgy teams, and campus ministers to attend this important formation opportunity.
In addition to the high-quality keynotes and workshops, there will also be opportunities to participate in liturgies, engage in facilitated discussions, and build networks with liturgists, liturgical musicians and educators from around the country.
An Earlybird discount will apply to those registrations received by 30 April 2023.
