Ordination Participation Guide

The Episcopal Ordination of Most Reverend Joseph John Caddy AM, as Eighth Bishop of Cairns,
will take place at 6 pm on the 15th of August, 2024,
on the Feast of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The ordination ceremony and Mass will take place in St Monica's Cathedral, Cairns, and simultaneous celebrations will be held across the diocese at live-stream hubs.

Attendance at livestream hubs is not capped; however, registrations are appreciated for catering purposes.

Attendance at the cathedral for the ordination will be by ticket only. Limited tickets will be made available to the general public at 9 am on Thursday, 1st August.

4.30 pm First Vespers

Bishop-elect Joe Caddy AM invites the people of the Cairns Diocese to First Vespers at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, August 14th at St Monica's Cathedral. Vespers is the Evening Prayer of the Divine Office, also known as Liturgy of the Hours, recited daily by all Catholic clergy and religious.
