The bishops convened last week for their May plenary session in Sydney, and among the various agenda items, one stood out prominently. A motion to endorse the Mass of the Land of the Holy Spirit (Missa Terra Spiritus Sancti) for use in the Diocese of Broome was scheduled for discussion.
Should the bishops approve this motion during their session on May 7, Tuesday morning, the endorsed Mass will then undergo submission to the Dicastery for Divine Worship, seeking official recognition from the Vatican, a process known as “recognitio”.
Present at this crucial decision-making moment in Sydney were two women from the Bidyadanga parish in the Diocese of Broome, whose presence underscores the significance of this matter to their community.
