‘The Chosen’ announces Season 4 streaming; show’s creator gives Season 5 preview
The creators of "The Chosen" announced that Season 4 will be available for streaming exclusively on "The Chosen" app and on the show's social media platforms starting June 2, 2024, with new episodes released twice weekly over four weeks. Initially free on their app, the season will be available on other platforms later. Legal issues caused a delay in the release, but production continues with filming for Season 5 already underway, focusing on the events of Holy Week.
"The Chosen," created by Dallas Jenkins and funded through a unique pay-it-forward crowdfunding model, encountered a significant contractual dispute with Angel Studios, its initial partner. This led to a third-party arbitrator affirming the breach of contract by Angel Studios, effectively ending their relationship. Jenkins expressed gratitude for Angel Studios' initial support but emphasized the need for the split to secure the show's future. As Jenkins and his team work on Season 5, he acknowledges the pressure to accurately portray pivotal biblical events, striving to honor the stories and the spirit of the Gospels.
