We are excited to announce the launch of Alpha in Cairns - a safe and welcoming space to explore life, faith, and meaning. This initiative offers the opportunity for people to come together, ask questions, and discuss important topics in a relaxed environment. Whether you're curious about faith or have a desire to share your experiences, Alpha provides a supportive platform to start the conversation.
If you’ve been involved in RCIA or are seeking a way to share your joy with others, Alpha could be the perfect place to help others begin their faith journey. The sessions will start on September 30 and will be held on Monday nights at the Bishop’s House.
Registrations for the Sep/Oct 2024 Alpha are now closed.
We've received such a great response to this Alpha course that we simply cannot fit any more participants at our venue!
If you'd like to express your interest in signing up for the next Alpha course starting in February 2025, please register via this link or contact Anne at 0407 716 430 for more details.
Everyone is welcome!
So What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore life faith and meaning. Alpha helps build Connection through a free shared meal, and build Conversation over dynamic and strategically planned video Content that serves to lead people to wanting to know more about Jesus. Visit the Alpha website for more information.
01
Connection
Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick online catch-up, times of connecting are important. It’s no different at Alpha.
Whether in person over a meal or virtually with a cup of tea, all sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships.
02
Content
The Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
03
Conversation
One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously).
It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
