Volunteers are an integral part of the good works we do, both in schools and the wider community, as such we are committed to investing in the development and sustainability of those we work alongside. Whether you are student or teacher looking to engage your school or university in social justice or looking to volunteer your time. We offer a wide range of opportunities for you to learn, reflect and support your community.
The St Vincent de Paul Society is passionate about supporting school communities to develop compassionate and emphatic socially aware students. We do this by offering a wide range of programs and services that provide a clear link to curriculum, with opportunities for teachers and students to support their local community by participating in the good works of the Society. We currently provide a number of engagement opportunities for students from year 4 to year 12, including classroom curriculum resources designed to support the subjects already being taught. We also provide a service-learning experience for teachers to further develop a deeper understanding of homelessness.
Working in the community supporting our mission for an empathic, connected and inclusive society. Different opportunities exist in tutoring, home visitation, social outreach, Christmas Appeal support, Children’s Education Fund support, household budgeting support, mentoring and more.
