Indigenous Connections
The Diocese of Cairns is blessed with a large population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, approximately 3,500 of whom are Catholic.
These Indigenous Catholics are the main focus for the Indigenous Connections team which consists of Deacon Ralph Madigan (a Muluridgi man) and Fr Robert Greenup O.S.A.
The team provides ministry services to remote locations in Cape York in a culturally sensitive way. It’s supported by the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC).
