The purchase of a 90-acre (36.4 hectares) property on the banks of Lake Tinaroo in 1985, made way for the establishment of a idyllic retreat, conference venue and camp centre for the Diocese of Cairns.

Genazzano Retreat is located an easy 1 hour drive from Cairns in the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, 20 minutes from the sleepy town of Yungaburra.  Genazzano offers wide open spaces, lake vistas and abundant bird life.  It’s the perfect environment for team building activities, reflection, relaxation, and rest. It’s also ideal for a special function, wedding or for just enjoying the great outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
