Our guest speakers: 

Qwayne Guevera: Qwayne Guevara is a respected Australian Catholic leader, facilitator, and youth ministry innovator. Currently the Facilitator for Formation and Young People at the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference’s National Centre for Evangelisation, she previously led youth engagement for the Diocese of Parramatta for over eight years, including organising its first synod and pastoral plan. Qwayne co-founded community initiatives like Young Lions Café and The Hustle, creative spaces that foster belonging and faith formation. Her journey from law to ministry was shaped by global pilgrimage and a deep commitment to empowering young people in faith, community, and authentic encounter.

Gen Bryant: Genevieve “Gen” Bryant is a Melbourne-based Australian singer-songwriter, composer and music minister whose work spans performance, composition, public speaking and community engagement. With over 18 years of involvement in school, parish and festival ministries across Australia, Gen uses her music to inspire hope, love and justice in audiences of all ages. Her dynamic performances and workshops blend heartfelt songwriting with interactive engagement, fostering connection and spiritual encounter. Beyond the stage, she mentors young creatives through the “GB Team,” curating inclusive experiences that uplift communities through music, faith and storytelling.

Who is this event aimed at?
This event is designed for anyone involved in leadership or emerging leadership within the diocese. This includes parish leaders, ministry coordinators, clergy, religious, pastoral council members, school and community leaders, and all those who feel called to contribute

What is the purpose of the day?
The day aims to form and strengthen leaders in synodality – leaders who listen, accompany, discern, and collaborate. It will explore what the Synod has revealed so far and help participants consider what these insights mean for the future direction of the diocese.

Do I need prior experience with the Synod process?
No prior experience is required. The gathering welcomes both those deeply involved in the Synod journey and those who are newly entering the conversation. Background and context will be provided.

Will meals be provided?
Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please advise any dietary requirements when allocating your ticket.
