Genesis plunges from Paradise (Ch.1 & 2) to Paradise Lost (Ch. 3), so discord enters these windows, represented by the weapons leaning against the walls of the shelter. There are no people standing in this area.
At the end of the previous window, 19, three exiles - surly, despondent, alienated - leave the Garden of Eden - determined to carry their spears all the way to Calvary and Kosovo! The cause of their exile - a deliberate slight? a misunderstanding? a wilful act of violence? - has led them away from harmony and community.
In the sky above the exiles, something extraordinary is happening. The violet of the evening sky is changing shape and intimates for the first time that the entire created world is being drawn towards its finality.
The exiles have not yet noticed this transformation which could lead to their reuniting themselves to their community. A crow in this window tempts them to join the scavengers.
